ABSTRACT
Aim Of The Study: Thin Veneers Are Subjected To Marginal Chipping During Milling And Clinical Procedures. Thus, This Study Aimed To Evaluate The Edge Strength Of VitaEnamic, EmpressCAD And Cerasmart With Three Veneer Marginal Thicknesses (0.2, 0.3 And 0.5mm). Methodology: Three Natural Teeth Of Similar Dimensions Were Collected And Prepared For Laminate Veneers. Each Prepared With Thicknesses (0.2, 0.3, 0.5mm), Duplicated Into 45 Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) Resin Dyes Using Zirkonzahn Machine. Forty-five Veneers (15 Of Each Material) Were Milled Using CEREC System. Each Subdivided Into Three Equal Subgroups (n=5) Of Veneer Thicknesses (0.2, 0.3, 0.5mm). Veneers Were Cemented Using RelyXveneer And Edge Strength Was Tested Using A Diamond Vickers Indenter At A Distance Of 0.5mm Away From The Margin At Crosshead Speed Of 0.5mm/min. Load Was Applied Until Failure Occurred, Followed By Fractographic Analysis.

Results: There Was No Statistically Significant Difference Between The Three Ceramics With 0.2 Or 0.3 Mm Thicknesses. While 0.5 Mm Thickness, Cerasmart Showed Statistically Significantly Highest Mean Edge Strength. Among The Thicknesses, Cerasmart 0.5 Mm Showed Statistically Significantly Highest Mean Edge Strength. Conclusion: Among The Materials, Cerasmart Showed Highest Mean Edge Strength Value. Throughout The Veneer Thicknesses, 0.5mm Showed Highest Mean Edge Strength Value With Cerasmart Only.
